Being a taxi driver you have to put over 60 hours to make a living which is very dangerous to be driving that long.
but taxi drivers have no choice just to make any savings you have to work long hours
if it was similar to busses fixed rate. And runned similar to busses.

The insurance, fuel cost, wear and tear any cost of taxi took by the base and any fares took by the driver the base keeps and driver gets fixed rate.
And fixed working hours for each driver.
There would be no cheating such as one driver taking more jobs than other or anything like that.
