I am currently 23 weeks pregnant.I had my 20 week scan last week.Due to current testing at my hospital they also measured my cervix(which isn't standard practice).My cervix was measuring 6mm instead of approx.4cm.This may have been picked up on previous scan earlier on and prevented such a high risk

1 in 20 pregnancies experience shortening of the cervix which may lead to late miscarriage or preterm labour. The sooner this is found, the more time hospitals have to try and prevent the cervix getting worse.
