Petition Make it illegal to force staff to use their own credit card for company expenses
More and more companies force / require employees to use their own funds and/or credit cards to fund company expenditure and to then claim back this expenditure after the fact.
The company's liability is then carried by the employee.
The employee is responsible to the credit card company.
More details
Companies then take weeks to pay the expenses - and in a lot of cases refuse to pay interest - forcing the employee to fund the expenses through their own current account (to avoid the expenses charge).
Having these expenses hidden makes the company’s balance sheet look more favourable than it is.
It is an abuse of the company’s power and when employees challenge it they are told there is no choice; no other option.
