There has been an uplift of illegal encampments in UK. Recently my council has had to pay out more than one hundred thousand pounds in clean up fees. Trespassers do not respond to civil rulings. To give the police more powers, I propose that all trespassing be made a criminal offence.
People cannot dictate where they can live by simply by squatting on land they do not own. Police need powers so owners can be protected.
