The eleventh day of the eleventh month should be a day to give thanks to all our servicemen who have given the ultimate sacrifice.
The eleventh hour should be observed nationally by all communities and all but essential business/services should remain closed until 12 noon and after this hour the remainder of the day should be treated as any other normal bank holiday.
If necessary the early May Bank holiday should be cancelled as this day no longer serves a purpose.
