Rejected petition Prosecute headteachers who suspend pupils based on their clothing or appearance.
For far too long, headteachers have acted extremely unprofessionally by suspending, punishing and even expelling pupils who do not conform to the schools' draconian uniform codes, subverting their right to an education. This is deliberate discrimination and abuse of power.

Schools on the Continent do not waste time, money and resources by trying to force pupils to conform unless it is a private or religious school - they simply get on with teaching the essentials. Heads in the UK purport to promote equality and discipline, yet they undermine the very values they swear to uphold with this uniform obsession and it must end. Uniforms must be abolished for good - the heads' justifications and arguments hold no water from an objective and logical perspective.
