Closed petition Sexual Assault law must not focus on perpetrator perception

Closed on

In court a perpetrator may say "it was my perception she consented" and he/she will face no consequence for his actions. Informed consent should be written in law. Consent must be verbalised every time, and can be withdrawn at any time, with no punitive consequence.

The law must say consent cannot be given by anyone asleep, under the influence of drugs or alcohol being unable to express a view, or those without physical capacity to object whether through temporary or permanent disability or because unconscious. Rape is a violent crime designed to humiliate and break people.
