On 16/08/18 Cllr David Owens, who represents Hythe, and indeed Seabrook, decided to abstain from a crucial vote which would have a significant impact. Not only to local residents, but for our wildlife and indeed our quality of life. The motion was passed 5-4 with the local Councillor abstaining

How local councillors vote is their own responsibility and they are accountable to their local electorates. It would be for the local authority to decide whether to hold any further votes on this issue.
