Closed petition Enact an Environmental Law

Closed on

Since the BBC 1 broadcasting of the Blue Planet (Oceans) showing the harm caused to marine life by plastic packaging there has been a public outcry.

Supermarket chains should be compelled (by law) to publish on their web sites their use of three categories of plastic packaging.

1) Single Use Plastic
2) Recyclable Plastic
3) 100% biodegradable plastic

And all as a percentage of their total plastic packaging. - Doing this would enable consumers to make choices as to where they shop, and what purchases they make not just on price but additionally and importantly on environmental sustainability.
