Closed Only allow public use of Fireworks on select dates

Almost all animals suffer from the loud bangs from fireworks & can cause them to have health problems. As well as that, fireworks can cause stress to PTSD sufferers & people who generally have a fear of them.

Only allowing public use of fireworks on select dates (for example, Bonfire night, New Years Eve & Chinese New Year) would really help for animals & people who suffer from the fireworks. It would mean they have time to plan & be more calm & on other nights when it’s professional displays only, people will know when the fireworks will go off & when they will stop, so it’s not much of a fright.

    Nearly 750,000 people have signed petitions about fireworks in the last three years.

    There are now 12 petitions calling for changes to the law. 11 call for greater restrictions on fireworks. The petition with the most signatures calls for a ban on fireworks being sold to and used by the public. There's also a petition against a ban.

    The Petitions Committee has scheduled several debates about fireworks in the House of Commons and, because so many people clearly have strong views, has now decided to investigate fireworks law in a new inquiry.
