The dog whisperer is based on out-dated unscientific, cruel and damaging methods which is then portrayed to the public; leading to masses of mentally and behaviourally damaged dogs which are often relinquished to rescue centres.

Most, if not all modern dog behaviourists and canine psychologists (and canine charities) disprove the dominance theory of which Cesar Millan bases his work in "The dog whisperer" (such as Victoria Stillwell).
