Petition Change sentencing guidelines for causing death by careless or dangerous driving

Our son-in-law and granddaughter were killed in a RTA. The other driver was charged with causing death by dangerous driving but acquitted, then pleaded to careless driving. He received a 10 month suspended sentence for 2 years with a 3 year driving ban (he was not given a custodial sentence).

More details

They were killed when he hit their stationary car which was stopped in the nearside lane of the road attending to a breakdown with a recovery vehicle in attendance. They were standing outside away from their car when the accused van ploughed into it and it was catapulted into them. The sentencing never reflects the crime!!!
