Closed 2 years minimum sentence for those convicted of assault on prison staff.

Over the years consecutive governments have failed to put in place a real deterrent to those prisoners who would assault prison staff. In all areas of the UK staff assaults are increasing. A minimum sentence would help to reduce these assaults

I have been an operational prison officer for more than 20 years.
