Rejected petition Stop IS schoolgirl, Shamima Begum returning to UK to have her baby
The pregnant schoolgirl, Shamima Begum who joined IS in Syria says she does not regret fleeing the UK, but wants to come home so her baby can be looked after in the UK! She married a young Dutch IS fighter three weeks after arriving in Syria four years ago.
More details
The 19-year-old fled the UK in 2015 with two other friends from Bethnal Green. She has been living "a normal life" in the caliphate, interrupted by "bombing and stuff".
Security minister Ben Wallace has said it was "worrying" she did not regret going and that "people know what they're getting into".
Shamima Begum and anyone who travels to join IS should have their British citizenship revoked with no right to return the moment they step on the plane to leave the UK.
