Closed petition Fund research into long-term effects of LLETZ procedure

Closed on

LLETZ is a common procedure for removing abnormal cells from the cervix. It’s considered by medical professionals to be a safe, minor procedure, with few side effects. However a growing number of women are reporting a whole range of side effects that they were not informed about prior to treatment.

Reported side effects include sexual dysfunction, including pain, loss of sensation, orgasm issues, loss of libido, incontinence, chronic pain, depression, anxiety and PTSD, vulvodynia, vaginismus, dryness, chronic fatigue, headaches and many more.
More research is needed so that the information provided about LLETZ can be updated to reflect the real side effects of this procedure and the understanding that the cervix is a sexual organ that plays a role in orgasm and pleasure.
