Closed petition Introduce Tougher Trade Restrictions on Knives in Stores

Closed on

All stores, chains and independent, should be required by Law to store knives in hidden cabinets (like those used for tobacco products), in order to deter the purchase of knives for criminal activity. This would also reduce the number of thefts of knives from stores, meaning attackers can be traced.

At least 19 people have been killed in London this year so far (accurate as of 04/03/19), after a record number of homicides were committed in 2018.

Since 2012, there has been a 93% increase in hospital admissions for knife attacks on people under the age of 16. (Channel 4's Dispatches).
