Rejected petition Repeal the Digital Economy Act 2017

Also labelled as the "porn ban", the Digital Economy Act 2017, which will come into effect on April 1st, greatly restricts access to online pornography by forcing ISP's to impose a pornography filter by default unless opted out of, and requiring age verification on all pornographic websites.

More details

This act sets a dangerous sentiment. As we all know, databases aren't intrusion-proof. There have been many cases of databases being hacked and confidential user details getting out (à la Ashley Madison, where details of millions of users were leaked).

It won't work (there are numerous workarounds), the age verification is being done by companies who have been known to collect user data, and it risks a future of online censorship.
