Closed petition Ban the production of beef in England

Closed on

We know that beef production is responsible for 41% of livestock greenhouse gas emissions, and that livestock accounts for 14.5% of total global emissions. Beef production has a water footprint of water footprint of 15400 m3/ton as a global average, banning beef is one step in saving the planet.

The UN warned in October 2018 that we had 12 years to save the planet. Beef production has a huge impact in terms of greenhouse gas emissions.

On top of this, we were warned in March 2019 that England could face water droughts in 25 years time. Once again beef production is a huge contributor to water use.

Therefore, I am calling on the UK government to take radical action now to save our future.
