Closed Reduce the cost of citizenship for EU nationals

Naturalisation in the UK costs around £1400.
In light of recent events surrounding Brexit, naturalisation is the surest way for EU nationals to guarantee their rights to stay in the UK post Brexit. £1400 is a barrier for 3 million EU nationals to secure their rights and it should be reduced.

Why is the fee so high? It would be interesting to know the processing costs of naturalisation as surely the cost to the applicant should only represent the cost to serve. £1400 is an extremely high ‘admin fee!
