Closed petition Scrap the petition website as it's a pointless waste of time and money.

The petition website is largely ignored by government, they basically do what they want regardless of public feeling. A prime example of this is the 'Revoke Article 50 and remain in the EU' petition has currently has almost 6 million signatures, the response was to basically ignore it.

The website attracts millions of views and sends out millions of verification emails. Based on my experience, server time isn't cheap, so this must be costing the tax payer £thousands per year. This money could be better spent elsewhere when the government response is basically to say "we understand but are going to ignore you all anyway.
