Closed petition Break the logjam on Brexit and agree a way forward
Closed on
This petition calls on the Government to propose the suspension of usual parliamentary procedure to allow a series of votes which will produce a majority outcome on Brexit.
The people of the UK have lived with the uncertainty for too long.
The votes should proceed as follows:
- Any Member may submit a motion as to the way forward on Brexit, the speaker will select all.
- Members will be asked to vote for one motion
- After the first ballot all motions with less than 10% of those voting will be eliminated
- Further rounds of voting will take place with the least supported motion eliminated each round until a single option is supported by more than 50% of those voting
- Abstention counts for nothing. Only those voting is relevant.
