Petition Increase the M4 Junctions 38 - 49 to 3 lanes instead of 2.

The M4 reduces from three lanes to two at junction 38 (Port Talbot) and remains that way until the motorway ends at junction 49 (Pont Abraham).

This needs to be increased to three, to help cope with more traffic pressures from thousands of new homes being built in the area.

Swansea's local development plan has homes earmarked for both the Penllergaer and Pontarddulais areas which would be built by 2025, increasing traffic significantly.

There are always accidents on this stretch which could be reduced drastically by adding the additional lanes.

The amount of traffic currently on this stretch is more than the two lanes can cope with, this is without the additional vehicles that will use this stretch with the new houses being built around the area.
