Closed petition Introduce a Dog Tax
Closed on
Introduce a ‘dog tax’ based on the German model. Dependant on the dog type and local authorities, German’s can pay annually in excess of 800e per dog.
There is an increasing, estimated 8.7 million dogs in the Uk which is spiralling out of control.
By ‘taxing’ owning a dog, given time, would reduce demand hence the social benefits of:-
Fewer illegal dog breeders.
Fewer attacks.
Less crowding in abandoned dog homes.
Reduced dog importing.
Reduced dog fouling providing a more pleasant and cleaner environment on our pavements, in our parks, public pathways and countryside.
Reduced ‘noise pollution’.
Funding for improved control, ‘policing’ of dogs and creating jobs.
