Closed petition Ban sales of disposable barbecues to the public

Disposable barbecues have been the cause of devastating moorland fires during the warm 2019 spring. During the summer of 2018 the moors were decimated by wild fires again through irresponsible people lighting barbecues on the pennine moors. This needs to end now before habitats are wiped out.

Tackling these unnecessary fires puts a strain on the fire service at a time when the fire service is under other constraints. Wildlife and natural habitats are being wiped out through irresponsible behaviour. The costs involved are astronomical all though thoughtless use of these disposable fire lighters.
