Rejected petition Lift the ban on the shooting General Licenses (GL04/05/06).
Rejected on
The revocation of these three general licences will put great impact on the agricultural and shooting community: making it difficult to effectively manage the countryside.
Not only will another British sport be lost, but the revocation will put strain on farmers, land managers and much more.

You may argue to use non-lethal methods, yet these non-lethal methods don’t always work and if they do, the bird can become immune to the deterrent. An example is a bird scarer: this in the first instance works, but when the bird realises that it’s s fake and doesn’t move, it continues to do as it pleases etc.
