Closed petition Reduce speed limit in country lanes to 30mph

I’m asking for the national speed limit on country lanes to be reduced to 30mph instead of the current 60mph. The current speed limit puts walkers, cyclists and horse riders in danger. As it also does other road users. The current speed limit is out of date on today’s country lanes.

There is far more traffic today than there was when speed limits were introduced. As a cyclist and a walker myself. I have had many a close pass and almost been hit by traffic on several occasions. The countryside is becoming less accessible to walkers, cyclists and horse riders due to the amount and speed of traffic on country lanes. So please reduce limit to 30mph
