Rejected petition Exta cruelty tax on all cosmetic products created with animal testing

We are a group of young campaigners aiming to reduce animal testing in cosmetics. Speaking to local pharmacists we discovered that cruelty free products have less availability and are more expensive. To change this we need to make cruelty free products as affordable, by adding a cruelty tax.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We can't accept your petition because we aren't sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.

Since 2013, the sale of cosmetic products tested on animals has been illegal in the UK and across all EU Member States. We are therefore unsure what action you would like the UK Government and Parliament to take.

You could start a new petition calling for an extra tax on any cosmetic products that include ingredients derived from animals if that is something you would like to see happen.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
