Low turnout in elections means they do not reflect the true feelings of the electorate.
Many people feel that a lot of candidates are not suitable. Making voting compulsory, and giving the option of "None of the above" on all ballot papers, would give a better indication of the feelings of all of the electorate, not just the few that currently vote.
