Closed Support Family Court Reform for Victims of Domestic Violence

Child Custody Cases have insufficient measures in place to prevent bias & to ensure that evidence of Domestic Violence is properly investigated.Independent Social Workers can be hired,DV evidence is reviewed briefly by the Judge only,1 party can even be connected to the Judge.

1.Ban the use of Independent Social Workers. Currently one party can hire an ISW to prepare the Section 7, the document that suggests which parent the child should reside with. The ISW can spend 10 days with the paying parent and 3 with the other, for example.
2.CAFCASS should be present at all Hearings.
3.A Domestic Violence expert should evaluate all evidence.
4.If one party has a partner/family member known to the Judge, that Judge should be replaced.
