Closed petition Meet the needs of non-binary people by including the title "Mx" as an option.
Closed on
The UK passed a number of laws to protect transgender individuals from discrimination, yet it ignores the basic needs of non-binary individuals accessing government services. For instance, the title "Mx" is often not an available option, forcing people to use titles that do not reflect their gender.
The gender-neutral title "Mx" is commonly used by non-binary individuals. This title is often not an available option when accessing government services, such as the Passport Office and even the NHS. Non-binary individuals are forced to use a title that does not reflect their gender or to argue for their right to use the correct title. They may also see their title replaced with a traditional title chosen by a civil servant without their consent. This is a form of discrimination and should stop.
