Rejected petition Call a General Election as soon as the new Conservative Party Leader is declared

We do not believe the new Prime Minister would dare table the required motion '“That there shall be an early parliamentary general election”'; we call on all other current Members of Parliament to do so.

Anything less would be to blatantly deny the public our democratic rights.

More details

A previous petition calling for 'a General Election if Theresa May resigned' - https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/252449 - received just over 46k signatures and a formal response was issued by the Government on June 13th 2019.

We now call upon all current Members of Parliament to take the measures open to them under the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011, namely to present a motion “That this House has no confidence in Her Majesty’s Government” and thus allow for an early General Election.
