Closed petition Set up a central UK government fund for public drinking water taps
Closed on
A central government fund to which UK councils can apply to pay for public drinking water taps in every UK city, town and village where anybody can drink or refill water bottles.
This would help reduce the wasteful resource use and environmental harm of bottling and transporting water and help reduce plastic waste and throwaway drinks cups.
I've seen such public drinking water taps all over Cyprus put in by the British authorities in the 1950's. Please can the UK government do the same for us at home and help end the harmful blight of thrown away plastic bottles and cups littering and polluting our landscape.
