Closed Make it a criminal offence for any UK citizen not to report illegal immigrants

People in the UK do not face any charges for encouraging illegal immigrants to remain in the UK by not reporting them to the correct authorities, unlike genuine employers who face severe and justifiable punishment for employing them.

Modern-day slaves are increasing in numbers throughout the world and people trying to help them are only exasperating their problems. I do not agree with some MP's signing a document promising not to report illegal immigrants, they should know better.

By making it a Criminal Offence these so-called do-gooders would be forced to do the correct thing and report them to the Border Agencies who have the expertise and resources to deal with the situation.
