Closed Fund the approved A&E extension for University Hospital North Durham

In 2017, plans were approved to extend Durham A&E and open the new department in 2019. At the time, the facility was already operating at double its capacity. Funding has still not been allocated for the extension, despite the growing need.

As well a new A&E, the approved plans included an Urgent Care Centre and new entrance to the paediatric ward. Plans were first revealed in 2015.
