Closed Burning the Union Flag should be made illegal

Our Union Flag is a symbol of national pride and identity.
There have been examples where our flag has been burned in public. Most recently the Union Flag was burned in protest at the planned Prorogation of Parliament.

At present this is not illegal
It is grossly disrespectful.
We call upon the Government to introduce a law to make burning the Union Flag illegal.

The appropriate sentence upon conviction would be determined through legislation passed.
