This petition was submitted during the 2017 to 2019 Parliament
Rejected petition MPs are ineligible to vote against their party’s manifesto at previous election.
Rejected on
All MPs who changed party should be ineligible to vote against what they campaigned for at the previous election. If they didn’t agree with that manifesto, they should have stood down then.
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
How an MP votes would be an individual decision for that person, and not a decision for the Government or Parliament as a whole.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
