Rejected petition To be more inclusive introduce jazz hands in Parliament instead of clapping.

Rejected on

People with PTSD are being excluded from listening to debates in Parliament since MPs decided to start clapping after speeches. To be more inclusive for those with PTSD and other noise related conditions, Parliament should introduce jazz hands instead.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

Order in the Chamber is a matter for the Speaker and not Parliament or Government as a whole.

You might be interested to know that clapping is already not considered in order in the House of Commons. You can find out more here:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
