Rejected petition Failure to pay the CC/ULEZ Charge should not result in an automatic PCN.
The system of issuing a PCN for failure to pay the daily CC/ULEZ Charge within 24 hours is absurd and unfair. A driver should be sent a request for payment of the daily CC/ULEZ Charge and if the same is not paid within a reasonable time period only then should a PCN be issued.
More details
A driver can make a genuine error and fail to pay the Congestion Charge/ULEZ Charge and should be given the opportunity to rectify the error before being issued with a Penalty Charge Notice in the sum of £80.00.
