Closed petition Ban factory farming and the importation of animal products
Closed on
As an animal rights activist I have met many people who disagree with the practises used by factory farms and the treatment of the animals. With this and the the climate emergency I believe it is in the public's best interest to ban these massive industries and support our local farmers.
Factory farmed animals are trapped inside. Will be dismembered whilst alive. Many Will be killed on their first day of life and counted as a waste product.
Animal agriculture is responsible for 95% of rainforest deforestation.
Livestock is responsible for 65% of nitrous oxide emissions. A greenhouse gas 296 times the global warming potential of CO2.
Factory farming contributes massively to acidification, eutrophication, high land use, high water use.
Support local farmers.
