Rejected petition Revoke Article 50 now, and allow a long cooling-off period

Brexit has torn the country apart, cost around £ 80 BILLION and has damaged families. It was started without a plan and will be hugely damaging for decades to come. If we are to do this thing, we must be sure of the will of the people, and must have a proper plan in place. Time needed for that.

More details

The last three years have shown (starkly) that for the UK to safely to leave the EU would have taken at least a decade of forward planning. To do so now will be enormously damaging and would reduce the UK to a vassal state of the USA. We need to stop the whole thing, rethink the situation, and revisit it once the febrile heat has cooled. There may be a case to go ahead with Brexit, but it has not yet been made, demonstrating the intellectual weakness of this current adventure..

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do, in particular we're not sure what exactly you mean by "allow a long cooling-off period".

You could start a new petition asking to Revoke Article 50 and to have another referendum on leaving the EU in 10 years, if that's something you'd like to see happen.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
