Petition Kill the pain, Not the patient – End killing patients by depriving them water and food

Abolish Do Not Resuscitate Orders. Not Human Rights compliant under Article 2 Right to Life. Replace with presumption of the right to life / CPR as standard.

Abolish withholding fluids/water/food either by nil by mouth / intravenously and medicine / treatment for the purposes of killing the patient under DNRs as not Human Rights compliant under Article 3 Cruel and unusual treatment. Replace as standard to be fed / watered, including right to demand assistance from nursing staff in eating and drinking.

Make Palliative care standard for all patients and for all medical staff to be trained and retrained in same, including Healthcare Assistants.

This bill to recognise that withholding water and food causes great distress and pain to the human body and therefore is torture and Euthanasia, which is against English law and therefore illegal.

This bill means equality and an end of discrimination for all patients no matter what age.
