We’re waiting for a new Petitions Committee

Petitions had to stop because of the recent general election. Once a new Petitions Committee is set up by the House of Commons, petitions will start again.

Rejected petition Hold an Independent public Enquiry into CSE, trafficking, rape and assault

There have been several cases of Child Sexual Exploitation, grooming, rape, assault and abuse in the last few years.
Rotherham, Rochdale, Oxford, Halifax, Manchester and now there are allegations circulating in Oldham.

More details

We believe that there should be a full Independent public Enquiry into these very serious issues.
Local authorities should not be allowed to set their own terms of reference.
Instead, we call upon the Government to consider seriously an independent public Enquiry led by a judge with access to all documents, evidence and files.
The Enquiry must be evidence based.
Terms of reference must be set by Government.
The victims of CSE and their families deserve nothing less.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action that is not already happening. An Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse is already taking place. You can find out more here -

https://www.iicsa.org.uk/

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do, if it is not covered by this.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
