Closed Protect the childcare element of Universal Credit from deductions

Deductions from the childcare element of Universal Credit need to stop.

By applying the deductions resulting from earnings to the childcare element, single parents who have no choice other than to use childcare can be left financially worse off for working. Childcare is a set cost that many parents have to pay to enable them to work, and parents should not be penalised for this.
