This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

The declaration of Public Health Emergencies of International Concern area matter for the World Health Organisation (WHO), not the Government or Parliament. WHO declared the coronavirus outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on 30 January 2020.

Since you started your petition, the Coronavirus Act 2020 has been passed, to provide powers needed to respond to the current coronavirus epidemic: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2020/7/contents/enacted

You could start a new petition calling for the Government to take particular actions using powers provided for by the Civil Contingencies Act.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
