Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

The UK left the EU on 31 January 2020 under the terms of the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Act 2020. Under this Act the 'transition period', during which time the majority of EU law continues to apply in the UK, will expire in December 2020. Any change to this expiration date can only be made with the agreement of both the UK and the EU prior to 1 July 2020.

You could start a petition calling for the Government to begin negotiations with the European Union for an early end to the transition period.
