Closed Give protection to renters during Corvid-19 Crisis. Ban evictions for one year.

By banning residential evictions for one year, the government would provide vital protection to millions of renters during the Corvid 19 crisis.

The fear of eviction and debt will push people who could self isolate to return to work.

Without this protection, millions will either spread the virus further, or enter a cycle of debt that will destroy more lives.

It is in the governments power to act now and be proactive for their people.

    What is a Question for short debate?

    Four short debates ('Questions for Short Debate') take place on Thursday every five weeks in Grand Committee of the House of Lords, away from the main Chamber. These debates are an opportunity for members of the House of Lords to discuss important current issues and draw the Government’s attention to concerns. A Government minister or spokesperson responds at the end to the issues raised in the debate.
