Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
The Government has not implemented forced isolation or martial law. The Government has advised everyone to stay at home except for specific reasons.
The Coronavirus Act gave the Government powers to issue directions relating to events, gatherings and premises, and made it an offence for a person to fail to comply with a prohibition made under those powers, unless they have a reasonable excuse.
We have published a number of petitions calling on the Government to make testing for coronavirus widely available, and to provide financial support to individuals who have been affected by the outbreak. You can see all of the open petitions relating to coroanvirus here: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions?state=open&topic=covid-19
If you want the Government to repeal the Coronavirus Act, or retract the directions that have been made under this act, you could start a new petition requesting this.
