Rejected petition Give NHS staff a 10% pay rise from 1st May 2020, backdated to 1st January 2020

Pay NHS workers a wage that matches the work they do - a 10% pay rise for all employees of the NHS who work treating or caring for patients in hospitals and medical centres, effective from 01/04/2020 and backdated to 01/01/2020.

More details

Those who work for the NHS carry out a difficult job but with the extreme load of the Covid19 virus, they should get a salary that more fairly represents the job they do. There are countless stories of the extra hours and effort and the risk they put themselves in of getting the virus, and coping under extreme stress and tiredness. If the Government can spend £106 billion on HS2 then they can find money to reward those who look after us all every day, not just in times of crisis like this.
