Closed Allow landlords full tax relief on finance costs such as mortgage interest

It is unfair that landlords cannot claim full tax relief on essential finance costs such as a mortgage interest. Shopkeepers can claim tax relief on the cost of goods, and interest payments are a similar legitimate business cost for landlords.

Not allowing full tax relief on these costs can increase rent and create financial hardship for tenants, as well as landlords.
