Rejected petition Supermarkets to give delivery and store priority to the elderly and vulnerable

Elderly/most vulnerable(carers on behalf) able to book supermarket deliveries to have priority before everyone else. For all supermarkets to offer early opening times and support for them. And to put strong measures in place to stop stock piling!

More details

With Covid-19 affecting everyones lives people over 70 and those with underlying health conditions are advised to isolate for 12 weeks but with the country stockpiling there are unable to get their usual weekly shop. Supermarket delivery is overwhelmed and they are not receiving the items they order, including milk, eggs, cheese and bread! Big changes need to be made to ensure they are safe and fed! Please put them as top priority and put measures in place to stop stockpiling!

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

The opening arrangements for supermarkets are a matter for individual retailers, not the Government or Parliament. A number of retailers have announced plans to open early for elderly or vulnerable customers, and prioritise them for home delivery. You should contact your local supermarket to find out if they have put such arrangements in place.
